Chocolate Christmas Tree Cake

Christmas is just around the corner. So it's time to start thinking about Christmas desserts.

This cake is rich, totally moist and full of flavor. It is topped with cute looking homemade christmas trees. Your guest will for sure love this cake!

Recipe (serves about 12-15 people):

Batter:

- 200 g flour
- 200 g sugar
- 180 g soft butter
- 3 eggs
- 70 g chocolate
- 3 tablesp. of of cocoa powder
- 3 teasp. of baking powder

Filling:

- 100 g of chocolate
- 250 g mascarpone
- 2 dl of cream
- 2 tablesp. of cocoa powder
- 20 g icing sugar
- some cream stiffener

Icing:

- 70 g cream cheese
- 40 g of icing sugar
- 4 tablesp. of milk

Christmas trees:

- some salt sticks
- green candy melts

Mix all the dry ingredients for the batter in a large bowl. Add the soft butter and the eggs and mix until it is well combined. Divide it in three and fill into cake moulds. Bake each of them for about 20-30 min at 170°C.

Beat the mascarpone, cream, cocoa powder, cream stiffener and icing sugar until it's nice and airy. Slowely melt the chocolate and let it cool down. Carefully combine the chocolate with the mascarpone mixture.

Let the cakes cool down and then start adding the filling on top of each layer and putting the cake together. Put it in the fridge to let it set.

Mix the ingredients for the icing and pour it over the cake. Melt the candy melts and drizzle it over the salt sticks to form Christmas trees. Stick the Christmas trees in the cake right before serving and enjoy!
