Festive hot chocolate

This year like most things Christmas will be a little different too. There are no Christmas markets, no choirs singing and smaller Christmas parties. Nevertheless, we can still indulge ourselves in delicious christmassy food.

I always like a good hot chocolate. This one is especially thick and creamy. It's great to serve your guests or just enjoy yourself. It looks super cute with some whipped cream and cookies on top. And some times, when I'm feeling very fancy I add a little coconut liqueur to it.

Here's the recipe for you:

For two hot chocolates:

- 450 ml of milk (ex. oat milk)

- 100 ml of water

- 3-4 tbsp. of cacao powder

- 1 tsp. of grounded cinnamon

- 1/2 tsp. of cardamom powder

- 1/4 tsp. of allspice powder

- 1/4 tsp. clove powder

- 2-3 dates

- 1 tbsp. of date or maple syrup

- 4 tbsp. of puffed amaranth or millet

Add all the ingredients to a pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Then blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth silky hot chocolate. Top it off with some whipped cream and cookies if you want to. Enjoy!
