Chocolate orange waffles

As a lot of us are spending quite some time at home right now how about making some nice waffles for breakfast. I tend to always eat similar things for breakfast like porridge or muesli. So waffles are a nice treat and alternative. 



They are super easy and quick to make. I'll also post a vegan version below for those who are interested. I topped mine with some slices of fresh orange, chocolate and maple syrup but you can add whatever you like. 



Here's the recipe: 

For about 6-8 waffles: 

- 130g flour

- 30g sugar

- 1 Tbsp. of cocoa powder

- 2 tsp. of baking powder

- dash of salt

Mix  all the dry ingredients and then add: 

- 1 egg

- 1.5 dl of milk

- 80g of soft butter or margarine  

- 1 tsp. of vanilla extract

Slightly beat the egg and add it with the other ingredients to the flour mixture. Turn on your waffle iron and bake them till they are golden brown.


For the vegan version use plant based milk (I like to use oat milk). Use the margarine and replace the egg with 2 Tbsp. of soy flour and 4 Tbsp of water. I've tried this many times and it always worked perfectly well. Enjoy!
